BEFRIEND UNCERTAINTY
WEEK 32 - PORTAL: THE TURNING POINT
“When the path disappears, the soul begins to lead.”
— Voge Smith
Hello Fellow Travelers
The card for this week is BEFRIEND UNCERTAINTY. Before you start listening…take a moment to take in the image. This card depicts a person who is walking on a path, that she does not quite know where it leads. No map, no compass except that she has reached a turning point where she is able to trust that each step she takes will lead her to the destination that has patiently waiting for her arrival. She is able to do this because she has reached a turning point in her life where the need to know before she has taken her first step has outlived its’ purpose.
🌬️ The Invitation
There is a moment in every sacred turning when the map dissolves, the compass spins, and the old landmarks vanish into fog. Instinct urges us to freeze, to fix, to forge ahead — but healing whispers: Stay here.
To befriend uncertainty is to decouple from the nervous system’s demand for guarantees. It is to exhale the tight grip of control, inhale the quiet of presence, and trust that the next step will reveal itself when your feet are ready to meet it.
For many of us, uncertainty once meant danger. As children, unpredictability brought chaos, rupture, or harm. We learned to scan ahead, to anticipate the blow, to take control as a form of protection. This card honors the tenderness of that adaptation. And it gently reminds you: you are no longer that child.
In adulthood, the cultural addiction to certainty can feel like a false god — a rigid cage disguised as safety. But the soul does not grow by bracing. It grows by staying open.
This card is not a command to leap. It is an invitation to soften your grip on needing to know. To befriend the in-between. To let the mystery become a sacred teacher, rather than a feared intruder.
Uncertainty isn’t a threat.
It’s the space where transformation unfolds.
🌀The Turning Point
There comes a moment on the healing path when you stop demanding clarity and begin practicing trust.
The fear that once screamed “I don’t know what’s coming!” becomes a softer voice that whispers, “And that might be okay.” This is the turning point — when uncertainty is no longer an enemy to outwit, but a presence to companion.
You stop bracing for impact and start listening for guidance.
You stop needing a map and start honoring your inner compass.
Befriending uncertainty doesn’t mean you enjoy not knowing — it means you learn to stay present anyway. You choose to belong to this moment, not some imagined version of safety. You remember that the fog does not mean you’re lost — it means you’re in transition.
This is the sacred pause between stories. The inhale before the next becoming.

• I release the grip of needing certainty to feel safe.
🔺Receiving Statements
• I receive the presence to meet the unknown with grace.
• I receive the quiet steadiness that lives beneath unpredictability.
• I receive the invitation to dance with the mystery.

🔍Inquiry Questions
• What sensations arise in my body when I don’t know what’s next?
• What might become possible if I loosened my grip on needing answers?
• Can I find steadiness in simply being here, now?
• Where in my life have I traded wonder for prediction?
• What if this fog was not confusion — but gestation?
🌬️ Closing Whisper
Place both hands gently on your belly.
Inhale slowly… feeling the breath travel downward, anchoring you in the now.
Exhale softly… imagining the loosening of your grip on needing to know.
Say gently:
“I don’t have to know. I just have to be.”
Let this be your quiet practice today: walking, listening, breathing — without rushing to define. Let the fog be your midwife. Let the unknown be a field of possibility.
You are not lost.
You are unfolding.
Inhale… mystery Exhale… control
