INVITE STILLNESS
WEEK 30- PORTAL: THE TURNING POINT
“Stillness isn’t empty. It’s where the truth finally has room to speak.”
— Voge Smith
Hello Fellow Travelers
The card for this week is Invite Stillness. Before you start listening…take a moment to take in the image. This card depicts a person sitting top of a mountain…sitting contentedly, in stillness…no place to run, no tasks to complete…no place to go but inside. She is able to do this because she has reached a turning point in her life where the need to avoid has outlived it’s purpose.
For the next 7 days, use this card as a way to recognize those moments when you use life to avoid, where you instead recognize all the invitations to be still, present to your life.
🌬️ The Invitation
This card invites you to stop running — not from life, but from yourself.
To pause long enough to notice what your speed has been protecting you from.
For many of us, stillness doesn’t feel peaceful. It feels exposed. In the quiet, the feelings we’ve outrun can rise. The unanswered questions show up. The grief taps the glass. The body finally gets a word in.
So we stay busy. We stay productive. We keep our minds filled, our schedules tight, our nervous systems in motion. Not because we’re incapable of stillness — but because we learned that slowing down might open a door we weren’t ready to walk through.
This card is not asking you to meditate for an hour or become a monk. It’s asking for something smaller. Braver.
A single, honest pause.
A willingness to sit in the quiet long enough to let your system settle… and let your inner truth become audible again.
Stillness is not where you fall apart.
Stillness is where you come back.
🌀The Turning Point
The Turning Point comes when urgency stops feeling like power… and starts feeling like captivity.
When you realize your pace isn’t serving you — it’s driving you.
When you notice the cost: irritability, numbness, disconnection, exhaustion, the constant sense that something is chasing you.
And sometimes the Turning Point is even more subtle:
You catch yourself choosing a pause.
You don’t fill the silence.
You don’t reach for the phone.
You take one breath… and something inside you says, “Here I am.”
This is the moment you stop treating stillness as a threat — and begin treating it as a sanctuary.
🔻Releasing Statements
• I release the fear of what I’ll feel when I slow down.
• I release the belief that urgency is necessary for my safety.
• I release the compulsion to fill every empty space.
• I release the addiction to motion as a way to avoid my own inner life.
🔺Receiving Statements
• I receive the clarity that arises in silence.
• I receive the calm intelligence of my body.
• I receive the steadiness that exists underneath the rush.
• I receive the truth that I don’t have to earn rest.
🔍Inquiry Questions
• What do I fear will surface if I slow down?
• Where do I confuse urgency with importance?
• What does my body ask for when no one is watching?
• What becomes possible when I stop pushing?
🌬️ Closing Whisper
Find one small pocket of quiet — even two minutes counts.
Let your shoulders drop. Unclench your jaw. Soften your belly.
Breathe in gently and say to yourself: Stillness.
Breathe out slowly and say: Urgency.
Now repeat, slower:
Inhale… stillness
Exhale… urgency
If feelings rise, don’t analyze them. Just notice: something is here.
If thoughts race, don’t chase them. Just return: I am here.
Stillness is not asking you to become someone else.
It is inviting you to come home to who you already are.
